MusicThe music of the Stangeland Family Youth Choral Academy reflects its role as a program of the Oregon Bach Festival and as an opportunity for singers who have the world of contemporary music available through their choirs, classrooms, CD players, or computers. You'll sing works by Bach and hear how they relate to the generations of master composers who followed him. You'll sing music born out of great choral traditions. You'll learn techniques from guest artists and learn how to sing in a range of styles, whether it's the improvised a cappella of Bobby McFerrin, the cross cultural explorations of Cantus, the soulful gospel of André Thomas, or the South American rhythms taught by Maria Guinand. Follow the links below to read more about music performed by the SFYCA or give a listen to samples of the choir in concert. |
